Hey SF! here for the cali classic and after a long day of bball, needed some dinner. we came at about 5:30 on a saturday and thankfully there weren't too many people. the waitress greeted us and suggested some pies. we got an all star (the meaty one) a california (red sauce) and a little star (pesto based) the cali and little star were deep dish and the all star was detroit style the pizzas were great. we had so much food left over which is always wanted out of pizza. the all star was super salty and greasy, just what i like from a meat-heavy pizza and i really liked the detroit style. the cali with the pesto was a deep dish pizza and it was super good. the pesto base was a good balance to the heavier meaty pizza we had the little star was the red sauce based one and it had veggies and was probably my least fav of the three. had here, they have a sort of corn meal crust so the crust has a sweeter taste which i enjoyed. they ALSO gave us honey, which i put on all 3 diff pizzas and i think it was best with the all star meat pizza because it was sweet and salty overall, solid spot. its funny because its close by to another pizza shop across te street (won't be named) 4/5

Deep dish pizza galore! Little Star deserves all the stars! If you're a fan of deep dish pizza, this is the place for you. If not, then try their thin crust pizza. They also have salads, sandwiches and sides. If you're into salads, the "little gems" are young romaine lettuce. What makes their deep dish pizza stand out is definitely their crust. The crispy crust gives a strong structure to the pie and a delicious last few bites before moving onto the next slice. The deep dish pizzas come in two sizes, 9 inch or 12 inch. The 9 inch is probably good for 2-3 people while the 12 inch is plenty for 4-5 people. Of course, if you're like us and love leftovers, order a bit more so you can savor it at home as well. Just be sure to account for the cooking time - they take about 30 minutes to come out of the oven. While you sit in the comfortable chairs waiting for your meal, soak in the city atmosphere and witness the occasional take out order. Also if you have children, ask about coloring sheets. Our server, Bryce, knew exactly what we needed before we even asked and gave out a couple sheets for our little ones to keep them occupied. Consider using the restroom which is pretty clean but be aware that the entrance cross paths with staff passing through so look both ways and walk. When the food was served, it came out hot and fresh. The cheesy garlic dippers and pizza were presented beautifully with a good amount of seasoning and sauce. If you want some more Parmesan cheese or red chili flakes, you can sprinkle some from the shakers on the table. The Little Star had a good combination of vegetables. Everything came pre-cut and was easy to share. Needless to say, we dug in right away and got instantly full from one slice of each. We didn't have room for dessert but they do have a couple options on their menu (cookies and cheesecake). Overall, Little Star definitely deserves the spotlight for their excellent deep dish pizza and exceptional quality of service and cleanliness. I would go as far as to say that this may be my favorite deep dish pizza place yet. If you're on the east bay, this is worth the drive and the bridge toll. The indoor seating is quite abundant so if you're considering hosting a larger party, they can certainly accommodate!

Nice little pizza joint in the mission. They have 3 styles of pies: deep dish, thin crust, Detroit. I tried the Italian combo deep dish pizza. It's on the thinner end of deep dish but still very tasty and hearty. They use a cornmeal crust that makes it crispy and delicious with sauce. Service was friendly and food came out reasonably fast.

This pizza place is AMAZING! The pizza is absolutely phenomenal & I also had their roasted kale appetizer, which was soooo delicious!!! I absolutely love this place and their service was so great. Our waiter was super attentive, kind, and funny! The overall vibe of the place was awesome & I will definitely come back again :) They also poured the biggest glasses of wine, which was such a great plus

Little Star makes some of the best pizza around. Their toppings are all very fresh, their crust is perfectly crisp, and the sauce is very well balanced. They make everything from scratch so you'll likely have a little bit of a wait. The lunch specials are cheaper because they reduce the size of their deep dish pizzas into a size where you won't have any leftovers. You can also get their pizzas in Detroit o thin crust varieties. They're a wonderful value, but every pizza is amazing so there's not a bad choice.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was really good, service was professional but also very relaxed. Even the water and the glasses they were in were great. Glad we picked this SF pizza spot. Ordered: Carbonara pizza Pesto chicken pizza All star deep dish Bbq chicken pizza 2lbs chicken wings Caesar salad (so good, great dressing ratio, great choice of lettuce, croutons yum) Everything was perfect.

This is my favorite pizza in the city by far. Better than Joyride Pizza (way better), A Mano, Doppio Zero, Delarosa, Fiorella, Amici's East Coast Pizzeria, and Montesacro Pinseria. (Although to be fair, only Joyride offers similar Detroit style pizza, whereas the others are traditional or thin crust style.) Super friendly staff. Amazing pizza! Their BBQ CHICKEN Deep Dish Pizza is a must. I have to come back to try their other dishes. Deep dish or Detroit style is the way to go here.

Wasn't expecting to see deep dish pizza out of Chicago (they also have Detroit + thin crust styles as well). Overall I think pretty true to authentic deep dish flavors. meatball deep dish - thought the flavor profile was quite good, really liked the blobs of ricotta on top. little star deep dish - this one wasn't anything particularly special, just a heavy tomato flavor with feta/spinach notes. white pie thin crust - would skip ordering this one, not a strong flavor profile. tasted like feta with vegetables. the caprese/salads taste quite standard for italian restaurants.
